Tanghalang Pilipino (TP) is back with another promise of a brilliant masterpiece as they unveil their upcoming production “Lam-ang”, an ethno-epic musical by Eljay Castro Deldoc and Jen Darlene Torres.

The musical will be based on ‘Biag ni Lam-ang’ (The Life of Lam-ang), the oldest recorded Ilocano folk epic of Luzon about a warrior and his journey to finding love for his family and self.

JC Santos, the long-haired hopeless romantic on the 2017 hit film ‘100 Tula para kay Stella’, landed the titular role of being Lam-ang. During auditions, the actor harnessed his inner warrior self as he danced around holding a sword.

JC started acting in theaters and also majored in theater arts at the University of the Philippines Diliman.

The ethno-epic musical is set to relive the glorious and dynamic settings of the folklore as well as present the mighty warrior in its most untouched glory.

It combines the artistry of music and sounds, as well as the bold warrior-like choreography that the story demands. JC and the rest of the actors faces a big hurdle of being a triple threat: dancers, singers, and actors.
