The Filipino Food

They say the fastest way to someone’s heart is through its stomach. That is the reason why the Philippines captured the hearts of many people. Lakbay Museo celebrates this gastronomic adventure for the whole family as it features over 600 regional dishes from all over the Philippines. Guests can sample some of the food by free tasting or exchanging pre-handed tokens to ‘buy’ them.

Walk beside the walls of coffee and rice displays that show this country’s obsession for them. Take a shot of vinegar from their vinegar tasting experience, crave for breakfast with eggs and sinangag as the familiar scent of tuyo, bisugo, and dilis fills their ‘palengke’ display, sit under a mango tree that bears colossal mango and chair hybrid, and appreciate the rich culture of the Philippines as it reflects on its cuisine.

All are encouraged to sashay inside (yes, inside!) the Mayon Volcano to perfect the Lava walk. Feel like a royal inside the Mindanao Royal House, take a stroll along Calle Crisologo and sample some longganisa, marvel at Magellan’s Cross, and a side trip to the Chocolate Hills in Bohol wouldn’t be that hassle. The interactive displays inside the museum are all about highlighting the best parts of being a Filipino.

The colorful woven textile displays are sourced originally from the different provinces in the country. These textiles can be touched and closely inspected to encourage deeper understanding of the provinces that made them.

Witness cultural shows like Cordillera Dance, Rural or Barrio Folk Dance, and Mindanao Dance performed by the staff of Lakbay Museo. Family members can also challenge each other to a Tinikling dance-off.
